History of Hand to Hand

Overview

Hand to Hand is a Triumph that asks you to defeat 20 combatants with close-range weapons without dying. The eligible weapon types are Sidearms, Submachine Guns, Shotguns, Glaives and Swords. It was added in Season 22.

How to complete

1. Equip one or more close-range weapon types from the list above.
2. Get 20 kills with them in any activity.
3. Stay alive for the whole requirement. The objective is written as "without dying," so a death ends the attempt.

You can switch between the eligible weapon types during the run. Any kill with one of the listed types counts toward the 20.

Tips

• The requirement names no activity or enemy type, so any combat you already play can contribute kills.
• A 2018 Bungie forum thread reported that kills with abilities do not count toward close-range triumphs, and that melee kills did not register for that player. That thread predates current systems.
