History of Hammer Charges

Hammer Charges are the currency built into the Hammer of Proving. They are earned by smashing Tribute Chests with the hammer, and they are spent at the Prismatic Recaster to focus Umbral Engrams.

Acquisition

Tribute Chests appear only in the Battleground playlist from the Vanguard Director. Smashing one with a Challenger Medallion socketed earns a charge. Other mods add more charges: the Pierced Challenger Medallion temporarily raises the charge capacity until the next focus, and the Radiant Challenger Medallion grants extra charges but costs more to forge.

Focusing

The number of charges needed per Umbral Engram is not stated on the source page, so the cost depends on the focus tier.
