Overview

Grandmaster: The Devil's Lair is a triumph in Destiny 2. It requires completing the The Devil's Lair Nightfall on Grandmaster difficulty. The strike was in the Grandmaster rotation during Season of the Deep and Season of the Witch. A similarly named triumph, Grandmaster: The Devils' Lair, is tied to Season of the Chosen.

How to complete

  1. Approach the strike on foot rather than sprinting in on your Sparrow.
  2. Deal with the Overload Captain first, and hold near the cover by the Ghost while clearing the Fallen Wretches that spawn behind you.
  3. In the boss arena, shoot Sepiks from the side room's windows. Stay aggressive, because the timer fails you if you are passive.

Tips

  • In the laser grid defense, use cargo containers for cover.
  • Against Sepiks Prime, fight from the small room on the left and prioritize Overload Champions and Wretches.
  • Bring anti-Barrier and Overload weapons.

Status

Bungie's Update 9.7.0 patch notes deprecated Nightfall-related triumphs and metrics. Progress already earned was kept, but this triumph can no longer be earned. Grandmaster Nightfalls had already been removed as a standalone rotation with Update 9.0.0.1, when Nightfalls moved to a daily rotation, and Grandmaster now appears as a difficulty tier in the matchmaking portal.
