Gjallarhorn Catalyst

Overview

The Gjallarhorn Catalyst is a Triumph in Destiny 2 tied to the Gjallarhorn Exotic rocket launcher. It is completed by defeating 400 targets with Gjallarhorn. Killing with Gjallarhorn is also what powers up the catalyst's More Wolves perk.

How to complete

1. Unlock Gjallarhorn first. The catalyst's chests only appear in the Grasp of Avarice dungeon once someone in the fireteam owns Gjallarhorn.
2. Each chest needs the Burdened by Riches debuff. Damage the Reaver Vandal near the chest until it drops a yellow engram, pick it up, and open the chest within about 30 seconds.
3. Every player in the fireteam must open each chest themselves.
4. Chest 1 is in the loot cave at the dungeon's start. Its Vandal is across the chasm on a ledge.
5. Chest 2 is in the container room after the cistern, on the right side after climbing the containers.
6. Chest 3 is at the top of the building under the Fallen Shield encounter, before the final fight.
7. Once the catalyst drops, get 400 kills with Gjallarhorn to unlock the catalyst's perk.

Tips: have the debuff active before you walk to each chest. The chest positions and kill count are from guides dated 2021 to 2024, so check the dungeon in-game if a step does not match.
