History of Ghost Writer

Overview

Ghost Writer is the seal and title for the annual Festival of the Lost Halloween event. Its triumph list is rebuilt each year, and progress resets when the event ends, so it can only be earned while the event is live. Eight objectives are needed from the pool listed on this wiki. Event Challenges start with Eva Levante, the event vendor.

Triumphs (current event, from in-game data)

• All Masked Up - collect all six masks.
• First Mask Upgrade and Costumed Completionist - earn the first mask upgrade, then all three.
• Candy Collector - collect 15,000 candy.
• Eerie Ops - complete five Ops activities with event modifiers active.
• Wear the Mask - wearing a mask, complete a Dungeon or Raid, win Trials of Osiris rounds, or complete Master-or-higher Ops (three activities).
• Monsterful and Nonpareil - reach Event Rank 15 and 30.
• Defensive Décor - purchase 50 defenses in Haunted Altars of Sorrow.
• Phantasmic Fighter - defeat 50 Nightmares in the Altars.
• Gold Shiver and Total Gem - finish the Altars with grade B or higher, and A or higher.

Tips, gilding and history

Earlier years used different triumph names (for example Bookworm, Heads Will Roll, Local Haunts, Candy Corner) and a separate set of gilding triumphs such as One of Many, Masked Mayhem, Deathless One and Sweet Tooth; Gamer Tag Zero (opened) covers 2022: 16 of 20 triumphs for the seal plus four gilding triumphs, including completing Haunted Sectors without dying and activities while wearing a mask. Sportskeeda's 2025 guide exists but could not be opened (the page returned 405), so the current gilding triumph list is not confirmed here. Gamer Tag Zero dates the first version to 2022; the seal has returned with a reshuffled list in later years, and a Sportskeeda search summary gives the 2025 event as October 21 to November 4. Time needed is a few hours of Altars runs plus event rank grinding.
