Flux

Flux is the Dark buff in Root of Nightmares, the counterpart of the Field of Light Light buff. A player gains Flux of Darkness by shooting an active Dark seed while standing over the marked flooring, and the buff lasts 20 seconds.

Shooting a seed while holding the matching buff links it to the next seed and consumes the buff, so a runner must collect a new one from the active seed and follow the trail. In Scission Light and Dark chains must be finished on each floor before the timer runs out, and special units with Dark auras can only be damaged while the buff is active. In Nezarec, taking a buff to an inactive seed of the opposite type creates a refuge.
