History of Floating Vest

Overview

Floating Vest is a Legendary Hunter Chest Armor piece of the Floating Armor Set, a Year 1 faction armor set tied to Trials of the Nine. Its flavor text is signed by the Emissary of the Nine. The set grants improved Resilience and Recovery and carries the Survivalist Hunter Armor intrinsic.

The Floating Armor Set also includes Floating Cowl, Floating Grips, Floating Boots, and the class item Cloak Relentless. Per the Destiny 2 Wiki all pieces share the same set properties and a default "Honors of the Nine" or similar Trials shader depending on set.

Acquisition

Obtained in Year 1 (Destiny 2: Warmind, Season 3) from Trials of the Nine, the Crucible event: complete Trials tickets and earn rank-up packages from the Emissary of the Nine (Destiny 2 Wiki lists the vendor as the Emissary at the Third Spire). Trials of the Nine has since been retired and replaced by Trials of Osiris (from Season of the Worthy), so this armor is a legacy item: sources describe it as unobtainable today. It is not craftable and has no Adept version. A "Trials Prestige" ornament set existed for it but was reported as exclusive to Season 2.
