Fire and Ice

Overview

Fire and Ice is the Destiny 2: Renegades Exotic mission (1-3 players, introduced 2 December 2025) set in the Adamant area of Europa. With Aunor's guidance you enter a Praxic Vault and claim the Praxic Blade, an Exotic Kinetic Sword. It is step 33 of the Renegades quest line, started by speaking to Aunor at the Tharsis Cantina. Enemies are the Barant Imperium and Taken. Difficulty variants: Legendary and Brave.

Encounters

1. Vault entrance: find the Imperium base in the ice wall, kill Val Cal'ric, Door Technician (miniboss), take the door codes and bypass the Taken Portal Keeper (miniboss).
2. Ascendant Plane: a long platforming section with chasms, vanishing floors and push blocks. It is a notable difficulty spike; an Eager Edge Sword can skip some paths.
3. Balance the Scales: manage Light and Dark energy fields by creating Paired Energy and Opposite Energy, defeating specific Taken and Imperium Centurion combinations.
4. Boss, Disciple of Harrow: a four-phase fight reusing those mechanics, with an immunity phase where you fill darkness energy fields via Darkness totems on floating platforms.

A secret encounter, Catalyst of Imbalance, also exists.

Expect over an hour on a first run, about 15 minutes afterwards.
