History of Familiar Territory

Overview

Familiar Territory is a Triumph in Destiny 2 that requires you to complete the Exotic mission The Whisper while the Whisper of the Worm Exotic Sniper Rifle is equipped. The triumph tracks progress toward this single objective.

How to complete

1. Find The Whisper in the Director under the Into the Light node, on the same screen as Hall of Champions and Onslaught. If Hall of Champions rotates out, The Whisper can move to the Legends node with the other Exotic missions.
2. Put the Whisper of the Worm in your Heavy slot before you launch the mission. The triumph only counts while the rifle is equipped, so do not swap it out during the run.
3. Choose a difficulty. As of a 2024 guide the timer is 40 minutes on Normal and 20 minutes on Legend.
4. Clear the mission. Early on, destroy the floating Vex cube on Io to summon platforms, then work through the Taken Blight rooms. Clear each combat room to break the Blights that block the exit.
5. Defeat the three bosses (Urzok, Drevis and Ta'aurc) and then Tulgorh. Tulgorh's shield drops when the two Taken Wizards behind him are defeated.
6. Complete the mission with the rifle still equipped to finish the triumph.

Tips: The guide recommends Leviathan's Breath for the first three bosses, with a Super and any Heavy weapon. For Tulgorh it suggests Apex Predator, Leviathan's Breath or Edge Transit.

Rewards

Defeating Tulgorh opens a chest at the back of the room that gives the Whisper of the Worm. Its crafted version gets its extra perks (Mulligan, Field Prep, No Distractions and Enlightened Action) from Eris Morn's Whispers of the Taken quest on the Moon.
