History of Faction Unit Challenge Modifiers

Overview

Faction Unit Challenge Modifiers is a Triumph in Destiny 2 that requires you to complete an activity while a Faction Unit challenge modifier is active. It is one of the Guardian Rank modifier objectives, and it is usually done alongside the Faction Drop Challenge Modifiers triumph.

How to complete

1. Go to the Portal and choose an activity.
2. Set the difficulty to Expert or higher. Faction Unit modifiers are not available on lower difficulties.
3. Open the Challenge Modifiers section (the skull icon) in the activity customization menu. Faction Unit modifiers appear after the Bane section, alongside threats, Chill Touch and Counterfeit. Hover over a modifier to see its type.
4. Place the modifier in the second mod socket.
5. Complete the activity with the modifier active.

Tips:

• A Faction Unit modifier changes how specific enemies behave. Fallen Shanks gain Solar shields, and Vex flying units deal more damage.
• You cannot select these modifiers if the activity has locked effects.
• Enemies on Expert are at least 200 power, so expect a noticeable difficulty increase.
