Expert Nether

Overview

Expert Nether is a 10-point Triumph in Destiny 2 that requires completing the Nether activity on Expert difficulty. It is part of the Episode: Heresy triumph set and is one of the Expert triumphs listed in the Heretic title guide.

Expert is the harder of the two Nether variants. It adds Champion enemies (Barrier, Overload and Unstoppable), Overcharge and Banes, and it has no matchmaking. The core rules are otherwise the same.

How to complete

1. Start the Nether from its Episode: Heresy node and choose the Expert difficulty. Expert runs cannot be matchmade, so bring a fireteam.
2. Each run has three rooms ending in a boss. Each of the three Dreadnaught sections has three objectives, which can be done in any order. Typical tasks are defending objectives, depositing relics at statues, defeating Subjugator pairs and destroying orange spores.
3. Defeat the Tormentor after collecting Darkness shards, then take down the final boss. Stay behind cover, since the final boss adds swarms and projectile attacks.
4. Respect the pressure events. When one starts, destroy all three Taken Blights within about two minutes or the fireteam wipes.
5. Watch your revives. Dying with zero revive tokens ends the run.

Tip: a single completed Expert run is enough for the triumph.
