History of Exegesis (triumph)

Overview

Exegesis is a Story Mission triumph associated with the Final Shape expansion. It tracks the completion of the third story mission in the campaign, requiring the Guardian to locate Ikora Rey and defeat the forces of the Witness. The triumph awards a score of 50.

How to complete

To complete this triumph, the player must finish the "Exegesis" mission. The process begins by locating Ikora's wrecked ship. The Guardian must navigate through areas containing Hive forces, specifically Eaters of Light and Eaters of Darkness.

The mission requires the player to empower Founts of Light and Founts of Darkness to dismantle barriers. This involves using Darkness fragments obtained from defeated enemies to empower Darkness founts, and using the Aegis super ability to gather Light fragments from enemies to empower Light founts. The player must balance both energies to progress.

Key objectives include:

• Locating and investigating the crash site.
• Using the Aegis super ability to defeat enemies and power founts.
• Defeating the Pillar of Silence, a Hive Ogre that guards the path to the Cradle. The Guardian must pierce its shield with the Aegis and defeat it after it teleports away multiple times.
• Joining Ikora at the campsight after the final battle.

The mission concludes with the Guardian finding Ikora and completing the story sequence.
