History of Evie Calumet

Evie Calumet was a theoretical physicist and a crew member of Ares One, the first crewed mission to Mars.

Biography

One of the leading theoretical physicists on Earth just before the Golden Age, she discovered and named the Traveler and was chosen to make contact with it on Mars. Shortly before launch, an electrical fire broke out at the crew's facility and she fell in the stairwell, suffering fatal injuries. She had discovered unauthorized personal assessments made by the ship AI subsystem "R" (Rasputin) and planned to report them to Commander Hardy; her colleague Mihaylova said she would take care of it.
