History of Ephemeral Virus

Overview

The Ephemeral Virus is a mechanic from the Enthymeme mission in Season of the Wish. Plaguewielders are shielded and cannot be damaged normally. Players first draw out the Elite Mephitic Hosts by defeating Scorn hordes, and killing a Host gives the Ephemeral Virus.

Use

With the virus, players can damage Plaguewielders for a limited window of about 29 seconds. If the timer runs out, the player dies. The Chiasmus mission uses the same mechanics for Riven's final egg.
