History of Enhanced perks
Revision 15996 by archivist at 2026-10-10 07:52:57
Enhanced perks are upgraded versions of some weapon perks. They appear on crafted weapons (sometimes called Resonant weapons), are the last perks to unlock, and cost more resources to reshape. Each enhanced version improves what the base perk does; for example, Shattered Vault gives the enhanced Kill Clip trait (Mega Kill Clip) a longer damage period and longer duration scaling.
How enhanced perks unlock
- Enhanced perks are only available on crafted weapons. Shattered Vault describes them as the last perks to unlock while leveling a weapon.
- Destinypedia says a weapon's intrinsic can be enhanced at level 7, and that the value increases at level 20. This is a different unlock point from the trait perks and is not confirmed by the other source.
- All perks and enhanced versions are available by level 16 (Destinypedia). Levels come from kills and activities with the weapon equipped, or instantly with Glimmer and Upgrade Materials.
Cost
Enhancing uses Ascendant Alloys and Enhancement Prisms. Shattered Vault says enhancing runs through a tiered weapon mod and consumes the standard currencies, plus Spoils of Conquest for raid weapons. Reshaping an enhanced perk costs more than a normal perk, and reshaping materials are not refunded.
Visual marker
A weapon with an enhanced intrinsic and two enhanced traits gets a golden border (Destinypedia).
Limits
- Not every perk has an enhanced version. Shattered Vault says Bungie may add more in later seasons.
- Some Exotics can be crafted, but they do not get enhanced traits (Destinypedia).
- Adept weapons are a separate case: sources say they are enhanced by reshaping and spending Glimmer and Upgrade Materials.
- No source checked says enhanced versions drop in the world. Treat any claim that they do as unconfirmed.
Notes
- Sources in this article date from the Edge of Fate era and the June 2026 perk list update. Check the in-game Crafting screen for current costs.
