Dreg

Overview

Dregs (Eliksni drekh) are the lowest-ranking Fallen warriors. They are cannon fodder, usually fielded in large groups to absorb fire or overwhelm enemies with numbers. They are less disciplined than Vandals or Captains and tend to reveal their position by chattering. Their lower arms were cut off as a mark of shame and obedience, and higher-ranked Fallen who fail their superiors can be demoted to Dreg if they are not killed outright.

Combat

Dregs fight with Shock Pistols, which they fire in short bursts, and Shock Daggers for melee. They throw Shock Grenades to hit targets behind cover. Rarer Dregs carry a shrapnel launcher or a molten welder, and Pike Dregs pilot pikes. They have no shield and die to about one headshot. They scatter when their leaders fall, and clearing them quickly lets players focus the Captains and Servitors behind them.

Destiny 2

In Destiny 2, Wretches took over the role that Dregs had in the original game. Few Dregs survive long enough to earn promotion and regrow their limbs.
