History of Distortions

Overview

Distortions is a quest started by speaking to Lodi, the Emissary of the Nine, in the Bazaar of the Tower. It introduces the Distorted Destinations, where spacetime damage caused by the Nine spawns Distortion Breaches. Destinypedia lists it as arriving with the Lawless season and the Monument of Triumph update, and says Ikora Rey frames the quest; the in-game steps name only Lodi. Expect around an hour, depending on the Strange Matter drop rate.

Walkthrough

1. Speak to Lodi in the Bazaar at the Tower.
2. On the current Distorted Destination, complete a Public Event; a Distortion Breach then appears. Destroy the red corruption growths, clear the waves of distorted enemies before time runs out, and open the chest.
3. Collect 50 Strange Matter by defeating distorted enemies, harvesting destination materials and opening chests on the Distorted Destination.
4. At 50, the Strange Matter combines into a Strange Signal. Open your map and find the circular search area; check the whole map. A tough distorted enemy waits there, and a chest next to it holds an event weapon.

Rewards

No fixed item is listed in the quest data; the final chest drops an event weapon.
