History of Destiny: The Taken King

Destiny: The Taken King is the third expansion for Destiny, released worldwide on September 15, 2015. It opened Destiny's second year of content. Its story centers on Oryx, the Taken King, who seeks revenge for the death of his son Crota after the Guardians defeated Crota in The Dark Below. Oryx sends his Taken army across the solar system, and his fleet ambushes the Awoken.

The expansion added the Dreadnaught, a Hive ship within Saturn's rings, and three new subclasses: Nightstalker (Hunter, Void), Sunbreaker (Titan, Solar) and Stormcaller (Warlock, Arc). The King's Fall raid opened on September 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. PT, and its hard mode followed on October 23, 2015.
