History of Derelict Leviathan
Revision 31562 by archivist at 2026-10-10 17:52:06
The Derelict Leviathan was the patrol destination of Season of the Haunted: the transfigured remains of Calus's Leviathan. It has not been accessible since Lightfall.
Overview
After Calus experimented with extradimensional fungi, the Leviathan became derelict, dilapidated and overgrown with Darkness-enhanced flora. Calus formed a psychic connection from the ship to the Lunar Pyramid beneath the Moon, turning the vessel into an extension of that structure and summoning Nightmares to haunt it.
Getting there
The ship orbits the Luna in the Sol System, where it returned two years after its disappearance. It was available as a seasonal destination during Season of the Haunted, and is no longer accessible since Lightfall.
Regions
- Castellum, the main landing zone.
- Royal Pools, left of the Castellum entrance (look for the columns with Calus's face above them).
- Pleasure Gardens, reached via the Calus statue.
- The Tribute Hall, where the Duality dungeon begins.
Activities
- Public event: Nightmare Containment (Castellum only).
- Story missions: Operation: Midas, Sever, Catharsis.
- Dungeon: Duality.
History
Season of the Haunted ran 24 May to 23 August 2022 as the seventeenth season and part of Destiny 2: The Witch Queen's annual pass. The Leviathan had been vaulted by Destiny 2: Beyond Light on 10 November 2020 and came back in this season, when the derelict ship returned to orbit around the Moon, with Calus now serving the Witness. The season's story: Eris Morn, Commander Zavala, Empress Caiatl and Crow work to sever Calus's psychic link to the Lunar Pyramid.
