Dendron, Root Mind

Overview

Dendron, Root Mind is a massive Vex Cyclops and the final boss of the A Garden World story mission and strike from Curse of Osiris. It appears in Mercury's Simulant Past.

As the Axis Mind, Dendron sat atop a Vex spire and channeled Arc energy into it. This spread Radiolaria across the surface and converted the planet into a Machine World. The strike is now in the Destiny Content Vault and can no longer be played.

Fight

1. After reaching the top of Gardener's Spire, the fireteam destroys the central matrix to drop Dendron's shield barrier.
2. Dendron circles the arena, firing Void laser beams from its Chronology Rifle and launching a Time Distortion projectile that heavily slows players on hit.
3. After losing a third of its health, Dendron regains its barrier and wakes two of the four Shielded Minotaurs at the arena's edges. Each Minotaur is protected by floating shield modules, and destroying both modules makes Dendron and the Minotaurs vulnerable again.
4. The barrier returns after each further third of its health is lost, and the cycle repeats until the last two shield modules fall and Dendron can be defeated.
