Dead Man's Tale (triumph)

Overview

Completing Deepsight Resonance extractions on Dead Man's Tale will unlock its Pattern. This triumph tracks the progress required to fully craft the weapon.

How to complete

Acquire the Dead Man's Tale exotic kinetic scout rifle. Obtain the Dead Man's Tale Catalyst to enable Deepsight Resonance. The catalyst quest was originally awarded upon completion of the Presage activity on Legend difficulty. Following the vaulting of that mission, the catalyst had a chance to drop from playlist activity completions, including Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit, once the weapon had been acquired. The Exotic quest to obtain the catalyst was reintroduced in Season of the Witch, allowing the catalyst to drop on Legend difficulty once again.

With the catalyst equipped, engage in activities where Dead Man's Tale is available as a Deepsight Resonance weapon. Extract the weapon from Exotic Engrams or complete the associated exotic mission to unlock the pattern. The weapon became craftable with new perks beginning in Season of the Witch, coinciding with the reintroduction of its corresponding exotic mission on a weekly rotating schedule. Prior to this, players could obtain one roll of the gun each week from Xûr by exchanging an Exotic Cipher with him, following the release of The Witch Queen expansion.
