History of Cryosthesia 77K Catalyst

Overview

Cryosthesia 77K Catalyst is a Stasis Trigger triumph that requires you to defeat combatants using the Cryosthesia 77K Linear Fusion Rifle. The objective is 700 defeats with the weapon. Completing this triumph awards no additional rewards.

How to complete

The catalyst comes from the Stasis Trigger quest, and the 700-defeat triumph is tracked on the weapon once it is equipped.

1. Get Cryosthesia 77K and speak to Banshee-44, the gunsmith in the Tower, to start Stasis Trigger.
2. Step 1 uses any weapon: 75 precision final blows, 50 Guardian defeats and 100 combatant defeats. A 2021 guide says Catalyst Quest Boost Alpha halves the Guardian requirement.
3. Step 2 requires the weapon: generate 200 calibration data, then 50 Guardian and 100 combatant defeats with it. Strikes, Nightfall Strikes, Gambit and Crucible all produce calibration data.
4. Turn the quest in with Banshee-44 to collect the exotic catalyst.
5. Get 700 defeats with the weapon. Your Masterwork shows a kill tracker and generates Orbs after rapidly defeating targets.

Tip: a 2021 report says enemy-dense areas such as Lost Sectors and Public Events are the fastest place to farm kills, and that the 700 objective was reported as buggy at launch.

Rewards

The catalyst upgrade. The weapon's Cold Efficiency perk refills its magazine from reserves when a frozen target is shattered.
