Crux of the Battle

Overview

Crux of the Battle is a Triumph in Destiny 2. Completing this triumph awards 10 Triumph Score. The objective requires you to banish each Crux in The Wellspring: Defend within 10 seconds of each other.

How to complete

Run The Wellspring's Defend mode, which opens with a Rally Banner and a Pyramid switch, then fights Scorn waves before the Lightflayer boss. Cruxes are removed by destroying the Pyramid Spikes around them, in this order:

1. Tunnel: The first crux has two Pyramid Spikes beside it. Destroy both to banish it.
2. Large room: Five cruxes are guarded by Scorn. Each of the first four has an Abomination that must die before its spikes appear. A Scorn Walker stands in the centre.
3. Bottom of the steps: After the first four fall, the fifth and final crux appears. Kill the Scorn waves, including Wraiths, to spawn its spikes.
4. Boss bridge: The Lightflayer fight starts after the final crux. Further cruxes appear surrounded by spikes during the chase across the bridge.

The 10-second window covers all of the banishes, so plan the run before you start. Assign one or two players to clear spikes ahead of the group so the next crux can be banished immediately after the last one. Expect to fight through the Scorn waves at each stage, which takes time.
