Overview
Court of Blades is a boss-rush Seasonal Arena introduced in Episode: Heresy and inspired by the Court of Oryx from the original Destiny. It is set in Oryx's old court aboard the Dreadnaught, for 1-3 players. The standard version (matchmaking available) recommends 1900 power; the Expert variants disable matchmaking and recommend 2000 and add Champions, Banes and Overcharge.
How it works
- Clear the entry corridor and step on a portal circle. Two augmentations are shown on Thrall statues. Portals lead to arenas such as Rathmore Subterrain on Europa, Remnant of Silver on Io and a Hive warship.
- Defeat the successive challengers (Hive and Taken bosses) within the timer (about 10 minutes); the run targets 13 challengers. Each boss has a damage-resistance shield stripped by completing the augmentation objective or by raw damage, then you must also kill its Ghost.
- Augments (examples: Adapt - match damage type to shields; Miasma - avoid Taken pools; Banish - kill Caster Wizards; Sharpen - use swords) reward Runes (Reciprocal, Stolen, Antiquated) that buy roguelike buffs at the Hall of Souls statues.
Variants
Boss families split into the cluster pages: Court of Blades (Blood of Oryx) (Dread/Dire Taken), Court of Blades (Lucent Brood) (Hive) and Court of Blades (Wrathborn) (Hive soldiers).
Rewards
Payout scales with bosses killed (aim for 10+). Drops seasonal Heresy weapons and respects Tome of Want runes.
