History of Communal Rites

Overview

Communal Rites is a Crota's End raid triumph (score 10), the Ir Yût encounter challenge in the Destiny 2 reprise of the raid (released 1 September 2023, per astrelion). Game text: "During each round of the Ir Yût encounter, at least one player must expunge Ir Yût." The seal it counts toward is not stated in the pages I opened.

How to complete

1. Reach the Ir Yût encounter and run it normally. Players get the Enlightened state by filling the Chalice of Light (Destinypedia).
2. Each damage phase, one Enlightened player moves next to Ir Yût and holds the interact input to expunge, which deals damage and weakens her (Destinypedia; TheGamer says the Guardian explodes for sizable damage).
3. Only one player needs to expunge per round, but it must happen in every round. TheGamer's tip: Enlighten one more person before killing the Wizards; that extra Enlightened player expunges mid damage phase.
4. Repeat each round until she dies. Because it is a challenge, do it in a single run.
