History of Champ

Champ is the seal and title earned during the Guardian Games event by completing its Event Challenge triumphs. This page covers the 2026 event (launched March 24 and ran until April 14, 2026, alongside Destiny 2: Renegades). Progress on the seal resets at the end of each event, so Champ can only be earned while Guardian Games is live.
Overview
- Activity: Guardian Games 2026, run from the Tower podium and Eva Levante, using the event activities Rushdown (a boss-rush activity with daily rotating bosses), Rush Remixed and Supremacy (a class-based Crucible mode).
- Title granted: Champ (gildable; see below).
- Time to complete: not stated by the sources. The seal asks for Event Rank 30, 15 cards and a set of Rushdown and Supremacy grades, which is a few days of casual play across the three-week event.
- Status: Event-only and time-limited. Once the event ends the triumphs reset. The title is kept if already earned. Sportskeeda's guide (read in full) splits the seal's 12 triumphs into 8 for the base title and 4 gilding triumphs that only unlock after the base seal is complete (marked below). An earlier version of this page cited a 20-triumph count; that is not supported by the guide and has been removed.
Required triumphs
- Boss Bully: defeat 25 bosses in any activity. Rushdown is the fastest source.
- Divine Slayer (gilding): defeat 50 bosses in Rushdown.
- Going the Distance (gilding): get a perfect score in "The Gauntlet" by having all six players complete every lap before time runs out.
- Hall of Fame (gilding): get an A grade in Rushdown without dying, and finish a Supremacy match with a score of at least 30.
- High Voltage: get 300 final blows with Arc damage (Guardians count for more).
- In It to Win It: earn a Medallion from activity completions and bank it at the podium in the Tower.
- Noble Aura: reach Event Rank 15.
- Podium Terminus: finish 10 Rushdown or Supremacy activities with a grade of B or higher.
- Record Setter: complete 15 Contender or Platinum Cards from Eva Levante (Platinum Cards give more progress).
- Supremely Forged: complete 7 matches of Supremacy or Trials of Osiris, with bonus progress for wins.
- Teacher's Pet (gilding): reach Event Rank 30.
- Victory Lap: complete 7 Rushdown activities.
Gilding
Sportskeeda says the gilded Champ seal needs four extra triumphs, available only after the normal seal is obtained: Teacher's Pet, Going the Distance, Divine Slayer and Hall of Fame. Gilding is only possible while the event is live and resets with each Guardian Games (Sportskeeda: a seal that "can be gilded over time as long as the event is active"). Note the in-game text for Going the Distance on this wiki describes a Gauntlet lap objective, while Sportskeeda describes it as banking Medallions with bonus progress for Platinum Medallions; the objective may differ between event years, so check your own record.
Tips
- Bank Medallions at the podium regularly; In It to Win It and the gilding triumph Going the Distance both depend on banking them. Platinum Medallions give bonus progress.
- Match the Arc requirement of High Voltage with an Arc subclass while running Rushdown, so two triumphs advance at once.
- Rushdown bosses rotate daily, so check the day's bosses before choosing a loadout.
Rewards
- Champ title (see Guardian Games for the event weapons Triple Laureate, The Beacon and Keraunios).
