Captain's Log

Overview

The Captain's Log is a lore book introduced in Season of the Chosen. Entries unlock after completing the Presage Exotic mission once a week during the Beyond Light yearly cycle.

The narrator is Katabasis, a Hunter Guardian accompanied by his Ghost, Gilgamesh (Gilly). He takes a job aboard Emperor Calus's ship, the Glykon Volatus. The crew steals the ship from a Cabal shipyard on Nessus and harvests Scorn for a ritual. Emperor Calus uses the Crown of Sorrow to commune with the Darkness at the anomaly where Mars used to be, and the ritual pulls the ship into a void. Katabasis is left trapped and his mental state deteriorates. In the final entry, told from Gilgamesh's perspective, Gilgamesh turns on Katabasis and kills him.
