History of Bombardment

Overview

The Bombardment is the catastrophic assault on the Last City in the alternate "Dark Future" timeline lived by Elisabeth Bray, told in the Destiny 2: Beyond Light lore book The Dark Future. It is not an event in the main timeline.

Events

Per Destinypedia, the attack follows the arrival of the Pyramids and the events at the Deep Stone Crypt. Several forces strike the City's strongholds at once: the Fallen under Eramis, the Cabal, Savathûn's Hive and corrupted "Dark Guardians" (Destinypedia credits Eris Morn with coordinating them). The Tower is destroyed, Ikora Rey is buried under it, the Vanguard is dismantled and the Traveler flees. Zavala survives but loses a leg and his Ghost. Afterwards the Dark Guardians turn on their Fallen and Cabal allies.

Where it appears

It is referenced across the book, most directly in Chapter 3: Towerless. Destinypedia lists Chapters 2-5 and 7 plus the Grimoire Anthology Volume III. The two sources differ slightly in emphasis (Destinypedia's article names Eris as coordinator; the book excerpt quotes "Eramis, the Cabal, Savathûn" attacking at once), so read the chapters for specifics.
