History of Black Spindle

Overview

The Black Spindle is a Destiny 1 Exotic sniper rifle from The Taken King expansion. It is the Year 2 Exotic version of the Black Hammer, and it is black with an extra chamber on top of the barrel.

Stats and perk

It fires Solar damage in semi-automatic mode with a 3-round magazine. Its unique perk is White Nail: if all three shots are precision shots, the magazine refills from reserve ammunition.

Acquisition

It cannot be obtained from random drops or quests. It was originally earned by completing a secret challenge in the heroic Lost to Light mission, which required eliminating Taken enemies within ten minutes. With the Age of Triumph update it can also be obtained by killing Ir Yût, the Deathsinger, in the revamped Crota's End.

Successor

Its Destiny 2 successor is the Whisper of the Worm.
