History of Best in Class

Overview

Best in Class is the introductory quest of the annual Guardian Games event, given by Eva Levante in the Tower. It teaches Medallions, the Contender Card and the podium, takes under an hour, and unlocks the event's follow-up quests. It is event-only and returns each year with small changes: the 2024 version rewarded the Hullabaloo Grenade Launcher, while the 2026 version is described as granting starter gear, a Medallion case, Engrams and access to the "Top of Class" Exotic quest. Check which year's rewards you are seeing.

Walkthrough

1. Use the Glimmer Eva gave you to buy a Platinum or Contender Card from her.
2. Equip your Guardian Games class item and complete a Supremacy match or Rushdown (the 2024 guide also lists Strikes, Nightfalls and Gambit) to earn your first Medallion.
3. Speak with Eva Levante in the Tower Courtyard.
4. Deposit your Medallion at the Guardian Games podium in the Tower Courtyard.
5. Claim your event rank reward.
6. Speak with Commander Zavala in the Tower Courtyard.
7. Speak with Lord Shaxx in the Tower.
8. Return to Eva Levante to finish.

Rewards

• Varies by year: 2024 gave two Hullabaloos in total (one from the event rank reward, one on completion). 2026 reports starter gear, a Medallion case and engrams.
• Unlocks follow-up quests (2024: Shoot to Score, Vying for Supremacy, Drop In; 2026: Top of Class).
