History of Battleground: Foothold (triumph)

Overview

Triumph for completing Battleground: Foothold, an activity that debuted in Season of the Chosen in the Cosmodrome and is now played through the Vanguard Ops Strike playlist.

How to complete

1. Launch Vanguard Ops strikes. Foothold can no longer be selected directly from the Director and appears randomly in the playlist. It is listed as 1-3 players.
2. Fight through the Mothyards (kill a Cabal Major while Hive enemies spawn), the Lunar Complex (denser waves, second Major) and Skywatch (a fortified Cabal stronghold).
3. Finish by defeating Val Ma'rag, an Incendior boss, in the Rite of Proving. His immunity breaks when you kill the spawned Shield Bearers.
4. If the fight stalls, the Shield Bearer may fail to spawn; restart the encounter or the activity.

Notes

• The current playlist version reportedly has no Champions, so it is easy for a modern loadout.
