Barrow-Dyad is an Exotic Strand Submachine Gun from Episode: Heresy. It is craftable and requires one pattern.

Overview

Its intrinsic perk, Panic Response, generates blight as it deals damage. While not firing, the blight depletes and the magazine gradually refills; reloading converts stored blight into Blighted Seekers.

Acquisition

Begin by finishing the Week 2 story mission of Episode: Heresy and finding a Taken Blight in The Nether, which starts The Taken Path quest. Take the quest to Eris Morn's Shaping Slab, then collect Taken Osseous Fragments from the K1 Revelation Lost Sector on the Moon and the Veles Labyrinth Lost Sector in the Cosmodrome, complete three Legendary side quests (Curse of Endurance, Curse of Urgency, Curse of Revenge) and defeat the yellow-bar enemies spawned by Hive Statues in the Nether. This unlocks the Exotic mission Derealize. The first clear drops the weapon with guaranteed Deepsight Resonance. Afterwards it can be earned again by running Derealize when it is featured in the Portal.

Catalyst

Barrow-Dyad has four catalysts, each adding a perk. Two arrived in Heresy Act 2 and two in Act 3. The "Dyadic Ascension" Exotic quest, claimed from the Shaping Slab after The Taken Path, upgrades the weapon's intrinsic and is separate from the catalyst quests.

  • High-Impact Reserves Refit (Act 2): rounds at the end of the magazine deal more damage. Complete an Expert Court of Blades run with Barrow-Dyad equipped, then the "A Needle's Path" quest: a second Expert run with Barrow-Dyad and only Scout Rifles, Linear Fusion Rifles or Sniper Rifles.
  • Hatchling Refit (Act 2): precision final blows or rapid defeats spawn a Threadling. The "A Hammer's Path" quest starts from a hidden room in the Trenchway area of the Nether; it requires Shaping Slab rank 12 on the Path of Ambition and an Expert Nether run with Barrow-Dyad and only Shotguns, Glaives or Swords.
  • One for All Refit (Act 3): hitting three separate targets increases damage for a moderate duration. Complete the Sunless Cell strike with Barrow-Dyad equipped to start the "A Hundredfold Path" quest chain.
  • Target Lock Refit (Act 3): damage increases the longer the weapon stays on a target. Collect three Coalescence of the Knife items (Mission Dossier: Blade Logic, the Founts hidden rune chest and the Hull Breach hidden Cabal chest), then open the portal in Hull Breach to start "A Silken Path".

Each catalyst is applied by reshaping the weapon at the Enclave.
