History of Balefire

Balefire is an Awoken device that blends Darkness and Light. It first appeared in Season of Defiance, where Guardians used it in Defiant Battlegrounds to channel the power of Mara Sov against the Shadow Legion and Taken.

Effects

Balefires can open portals to the Ascendant Realm, disperse concentrations of Blight, and shield an area from the Dark Fetor of the Shadow Legion Prison. In the Defiant Battlegrounds, players use the light they give off to hold a safe zone.
