Arena Ops is a six-player playlist in The Portal, the activity hub that replaced the Director with The Edge of Fate.
Overview
Arena Ops sits alongside Solo Ops, Fireteam Ops and Pinnacle Ops in the Portal's Vanguard Ops section. It is group content for up to six Guardians: curated six-player activities from past Seasons, with objective-based scoring (not elimination-focused) and runs of roughly 10 to 15 minutes. It offers a way to earn larger activity rewards without scheduling a Raid or Dungeon.
Launching
Open the Portal and choose Arena Ops from the playlists, individually or via Quickplay (matchmaking is available on higher difficulties). Like most Portal activities it offers difficulty modifiers that raise the score target and improve loot. It is a free-to-play, easygoing PvE experience with preset modifiers.
Since the Monument of Triumph update (June 2026), Arena Ops is reached through the Director's Vanguard node, Arena tab, rather than the Portal screen.
Activities
Rotating seasonal activities such as Ketchcrash, Astral Alignment, Nightmare Containment and Override locations (Moon, Europa, Last City Crater, Tangled Shore).
Rewards
Arena Ops and Pinnacle Ops both award Vanguard Ciphers, which are spent on focused gear. Higher difficulty raises the default reward rank and tier. Rewards include Tier 3+ gear and seasonal weapons with the Accelerated Assault origin trait, plus weekly Vanguard Alerts.
History
Arena Ops debuted in Destiny 2: Renegades (released 2 December 2025). The Portal itself came with The Edge of Fate (15 July 2025). The Monument of Triumph update (June 2026) replaced the Portal screen with the Director's seasonal hub.
