History of An Xohol, Jaws of Xivu Arath

An Xohol, Jaws of Xivu Arath is a giant Hive Knight and the final boss of the Ruins of Wrath mission in the Shattered Realm, from Season of the Lost.

Overview

Two beacons must be aligned first. Doing so spawns a third beacon in the warship area of the Shattered Realm, and activating it summons An Xohol with Hive reinforcements.

Phases

• Opening: An Xohol fires a Shredder from mid range and slams the ground if players get close. It can cast a Cloud of Darkness that poisons and slows anyone inside it.
• First shield: At 80% health it gains an immunity shield and a Ritualist of Xivu Arath spawns. Defeating the Ritualist leaves an aura. Leaving that aura grants the Wrathful buff for five seconds, which is used to break the shield.
• Second shield: At a later health threshold it gains another shield. The Ritualists must be defeated again to break it, and it can enrage and charge in for a melee attack.
• Finish: A few bursts from a Fusion Rifle with Particle Deconstructor can finish it once its shield is down. If the fight can't be finished in one phase, clear the adds before the shield returns.

Rewards

After the boss dies, interact with the crystal at the end of the arena to free the third Techeun. That unlocks Safe Passage in the Wayfinder's Compass, which resists slow fields for ten seconds, and opens the final row of the Compass upgrade grid.
