An Old Flame

Overview

An Old Flame is the catalyst quest for the exotic Grenade Launcher Dragon's Breath, introduced in Season of the Wish (Shacknews guide published 28 November 2023). Collect Dragon's Breath from the season pass (or the Monument to Lost Lights per one guide), then pick the quest up from Banshee-44 in the Tower.

Walkthrough

1. Defeat 50 Scorched enemies and 5 Scorched bosses. A Solar subclass makes applying Scorch easy; public events with bosses are efficient. Dexerto notes the Scorch need not come from Dragon's Breath.
2. Generate 200 calibration data and defeat 450 targets (in-game text) while using Dragon's Breath. Calibration comes from Ops activities; Crucible wins give more. Dexerto lists 150 target defeats for this step, so the number may differ by version.
3. Return to Banshee-44 for the catalyst.

Rewards

• Dragon's Breath Catalyst. After slotting it, guides say 100 more Scorched defeats unlock the Pyromancer perk (faster fuel replenishment and periodic Firesprites from defeated targets).
