History of Akelous, the Siren's Current

Akelous, the Siren's Current is a Sol Divisive Vex Harpy Mind and the first boss of the Spire of the Watcher Dungeon (released December 9, 2022, Season of the Seraph). The Witness sent it to infiltrate the Ares Spire on Mars, steal data and overload the spire. The name references the Greek river god, father of the Sirens.

Encounter

Akelous holds a suspended Minotaur; approaching starts the fight. It retreats to a tower corner, firing Solar Smite attacks while opening its plating. Players use the "Arctrician" buff from defeated Conduit Minotaurs to activate Arc circuits and reveal fuel rods; when all are lit it flies to the last one and exposes its eyes. Destroying the eyes strips its armor, delaying an Arc Repulsion blast that can knock players off the arena, and opens a damage window on its core.
