History of Ahsa

Ahsa is an enormous female Proto-Worm of the Fundament, affiliated with The Coalition. Golden Age marine biologists on Titan designated her "TLev-01" after detecting her on subsurface scanners, and found her to be intelligent and telepathic. She also goes by Long Boy in the Soup, Long Girl and Coward Flesh. She lives in Titan's methane ocean, where she crashed after crossing the cosmos in pursuit of the Traveler and hid in its seas.

In Season of the Deep the Vanguard fears Xivu Arath has captured her. The Hive God of War hunts Ahsa because she tried to stop the Hive from finding other Worms, and Xivu Arath wants to kill her to feed her own Worm. A team including Sloane, Zavala and Saint-14 stops the ritual to turn her into a Taken in Barotrauma. Ahsa bonded with Sloane through psychic links strengthened by Egregore, and she relayed messages about the Witness through her.

Later she helps Eris Morn contain energy during a ritual. Eris invoked the names of Ahsa's sisters while becoming a Hive God, which pulled Ahsa into the ritual. Ahsa held the energy of Eris's tithes. Eris became the most powerful Hive God, banished Xivu Arath, then gave up her power and ended the bond. Ahsa was then allowed to rest. She first entered hibernation to recover from her exhausting communions with Sloane, and she returned to hibernation in peace after the ritual ended.
