History of Acolyte

Acolytes are the Hive's main infantry, ranking above Thralls and below Knights and Wizards.

Overview

Unlike Thralls, Acolytes use cover and coordinate with other units. They wield weapons such as Shredders, Boomers, Soulfire Rifles and Splinters, and in Destiny 2 can throw incendiary grenades. Survivors can advance into Knights or Wizards.

Variants

Lightbearer Acolytes (revived by Ghosts), Adherents (Soulfire riflemen), Nightmare Acolytes, and higher-difficulty Ascendant, Chosen, Hallowed, Revenant and Unhallowed versions. Acolytes were called "Troopers" in early development.
