Overview

A Guardian Rises is the 21-step New Light tutorial quest (over an hour, per GINX). It starts in the Cosmodrome, where Shaw Han helps you, and ends in the Tower with the strike The Disgraced. Veterans can replay it from the Quest Archive near the Postmaster (Shacknews).

Walkthrough

  1. Complete the mission A Guardian Rises, then Schism.
  2. Find Shaw Han at his camp, buy any daily bounty, then sync with his ship.
  3. Defeat Fallen to collect 20 data scraps.
  4. Return to Shaw; complete Cold Boot (finds the superconductor).
  5. Return to Shaw; complete Vendetta.
  6. Report to Shaw and travel to the Tower.
  7. Speak to Amanda Holliday, then do the Advent tour: Commander Zavala (collect his gift), Ikora Rey, the Drifter, Banshee-44, Master Rahool, and Zavala again.
  8. Complete the strike The Disgraced from the Cosmodrome in Destinations.

Rewards

  • XP; unlocks subclass customisation, Seasons and Triumphs per GINX.

Trivia

  • It is modelled on the original Destiny's opening mission of the same name.
