History of A Gift in Return

A Gift in Return is a Legendary Container from the Dawning holiday event, available only during the event. It is received when delivering baked treats to eligible NPCs during the Cookie Delivery Helper quest in the 2025 Dawning. It can also drop when claiming a Dawning Delivery, which is earned by delivering cookies made from Eva's Holiday Oven recipes.

Contents

Opening it can yield special versions of the event weapons: Tier Five versions of the Dawning weapons, including a returning linear fusion rifle and two new powerful weapons (2025).

In earlier Dawnings the container worked differently:

• 2021: Opening it guaranteed a Dawning-exclusive weapon: Cold Front, Glacioclasm, Avalanche or Zephyr. Zephyr requires completing The Pigeon Provides.
• 2022 and 2023: It did not drop weapons. Weapons were obtained by focusing it at Eva Levante in the Tower.

Rewards

Opening it always gives Glimmer and Experience. It can also give Upgrade Modules, Legendary Shards, Enhancement Cores and Enhancement Prisms. The 2021 version also gave Destination Resources.
