History of Zydron

Overview

Zydron is a unique Vex Minotaur that serves as a Gate Lord, guarding the Endless Steps on Venus. Gate Lords protect the realms the Vex use to access points in time.

Story

In the Eye of a Gate Lord mission, Guardians defeat Zydron and bring its head to Mara Sov, who uses it to awaken the Eye needed to enter the Black Garden.

Nightmare

After the Pyramid awoke on the Moon, Zydron was recreated as a Nightmare to guard the Black Garden portal. It is fought as Nightmare of Zydron in the Nightmare Hunt, where it summons Major Nightmares and Goblins as its health drops. Its damage immunity can be skipped by killing the Major Nightmares quickly.

Trivia

Zydron also appears as a champion in Dares of Eternity.
