History of Year 4

Overview

Year 4 is the Destiny 2 content year that began on November 10, 2020, with the launch of Destiny 2: Beyond Light. It introduced the Destiny Content Vault, which moved older content out of the game.

Content vault

At the start of Year 4, five legacy destinations entered the vault: Io, Titan, Mars, Mercury and Leviathan. Under Bungie's rule, when a destination is vaulted, all of its PvE activities and their rewards go with it. Campaigns that moved into the vault included Forsaken, Curse of Osiris, Warmind and Red War.
