History of WANTED: Combustor Valus

Overview

WANTED: Combustor Valus was a Forsaken-era weekly Spider bounty that launched a marked adventure on Mercury. The target was hidden in Pariah's Refuge, the Lost Sector in the Fields of Glass. Mercury and its supported activities entered the Destiny Content Vault on November 10, 2020, so this bounty is historical content rather than a currently available route. Contemporary guides differ on the bounty's reward wording: one reports Powerful Gear, another a Powerful Engram; verify against the relevant Forsaken-era reward system rather than treating either as current.

Walkthrough

1. After claiming the bounty, launch the orange-sword-and-shield adventure icon on Mercury and follow its markers into Pariah's Refuge.
2. In the final chamber, Combustor Valus stays inside a large damaging Solar dome that blocks projectiles across its boundary. Enter the dome to damage him, then retreat or use cover when needed.
3. Kill the Honored Incendiors that spawn with the adds. Their drops grant an overshield that helps you survive the dome's Solar damage; continue through the enemy waves until Valus is defeated.

The exact reward is kept out of the activity's reward graph because the opened Forsaken guides disagree on the label.
