History of Vanguard Research

Overview

Vanguard Research was a Year 1 Destiny 2 reputation track run by Ikora Rey, earned by completing Meditations (limit three per character per week) and, per PowerPyx, Daily Milestone Challenges. Ikora first appeared at The Farm during the campaign and later at The Tower.

Tokens and rewards

Vanguard Research Tokens were handed in to Ikora; unlike other factions, only 7 tokens were needed for a rank, and each rank paid out a Vanguard Research Engram (the Destiny 2 Wiki lists 7000 reputation per engram at 1000 per token). Engrams held restored armor sets: Frumious armor for Hunters, Noble Constant Type 2 for Titans and Ego Talon IV for Warlocks, plus Legendary Shards, weapons or other legendary armor.

Status

The track was part of Year 1 and is not available in current Destiny 2; the sources fetched did not state an exact retirement date.
