History of Vanguard Marks

Overview

Vanguard Marks were the older Destiny 1 currency, earned mainly from high-level PvE activities and spent at Vanguard vendors. They were replaced by Legendary Marks in Destiny 1's second year.

Earning

Level 20, 22 and 24 Strikes paid 2, 3 and 6 Marks per completion. Heroic Daily Missions and Heroic Weekly Strikes also paid them out. Earnings were capped at 100 per week, with the limit resetting on Thursday.

Spending

Marks bought Legendary weapons and sparrows from the Vanguard Quartermaster, and Legendary armor from the Titan, Hunter and Warlock Vanguard vendors. They could also be exchanged for materials such as Spinmetal or Relic Iron.
