History of Two Sides, Same Coin

Overview

Two Sides, Same Coin is a Triumph in Destiny 2. The objective requires the player to defeat Invaders or defeat Guardians while playing as an Invader in the Gambit activity. It belongs to Monument of Triumph → Competitions: Gambit and awards Legendary Marks at its completion tiers.

How to complete

To complete this triumph, the player must participate in Gambit. There are two distinct methods to fulfill the requirement:

1. Defeat Invaders: Play as a Guardian in Gambit and defeat enemies classified as Invader.
2. Defeat Guardians as an Invader: Play as an Invader in Gambit and defeat enemy Guardians.

The triumph tracks progress for either scenario. Players may choose to complete the objectives by focusing on one role or alternating between Guardian and Invader perspectives within the Gambit match. No specific expansion or additional requirements are listed for this triumph.

Practical tips and rewards

Defensive kills and invading kills both advance this objective across matches. To defend, respond to the invasion alert, take cover, and coordinate with teammates to eliminate the opposing Invader before returning to collecting Motes. To invade, use the active portal near the Gambit bank and defeat opposing Guardians before the invasion ends. A ranged weapon such as a Scout Rifle, Sniper Rifle or Machine Gun helps engage players without crossing exposed ground.

The cumulative tiers are 10, 25 and 50 qualifying defeats. Each claimed tier awards 30 Legendary Marks, for 90 across all three tiers. The triumph has 0 Triumph Score; its currency rewards are separate from score. Claim completed tiers through Monument of Triumph.
