Traveler's Chosen Catalyst

Overview

Traveler's Chosen Catalyst is the catalyst-completion record for Traveler's Chosen, an Exotic Kinetic Sidearm. Defeat 700 targets with the weapon to complete the upgrade; equipping it while another weapon or an ability scores the kills does not satisfy the weapon-defeat objective.

Acquisition and completion

Obtain Traveler's Chosen and its catalyst. The catalyst can drop from Strike, Crucible and Gambit completions; Xûr can also sell it when it appears in his catalyst offers. Apply the catalyst in the weapon's inspection screen and defeat combatants with the sidearm. Enemy-dense encounters such as Altars of Sorrow provide repeated targets without requiring a particular mission. Finish the counter and apply the completed upgrade.

Upgrade

The current catalyst grants Osmosis and Surplus. Osmosis partially refills the magazine when the grenade ability is used and changes the weapon's damage type to match that grenade until the weapon is stowed. Surplus improves handling, reload speed and stability for each fully charged ability. Older 2021 guides describe Full Auto Trigger System, which was replaced by Surplus in 2022. This record has no Triumph Score or separate equipment reward.
