Overview

Transformative is a Season 12 Legendary Trait on Hawkmoon, an Exotic Hand Cannon. According to its in-game description, future drops of this weapon will have random rolls.

Random-roll copies came from the Harbinger mission during Season of the Hunt and from Xûr after The Witch Queen. Copies from quests during Season of the Hunt had Transformative in place of a weapon trait, which had no effect.
