History of The Stag

The Stag is an Exotic Warlock Helmet introduced with Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris.

Overview

Its intrinsic perk, Dearly Departed, gives allied Guardians damage reduction while standing in your Rift, grants Rift energy when you are critically wounded, and creates a healing Rift where you die. Bungie first documented the ally-damage-reduction effect in Update 3.3.0 (August 2021); the current Bungie item entry confirms all three behaviors.

Acquisition

• Random Exotic Engram drops and extremely rare world drops.
• Master Rahool offers Novel Focusing for past-expansion Exotic armor, available without a reputation-track reset since July 15, 2025; check current vendor eligibility and requirements. Xûr's old 23 Legendary Shard price is obsolete.
